Mariah Creason

2025

Mariah Creason grew up on a family owned and operated ranch in Livingston’s Paradise Valley consisting of a working dairy, a small cow-calf operation, and a small farm flock of Suffolk sheep. Her parents, Darel Creason and Laura Mitchell, were both active in youth organizations and she has proudly followed suit being a past long time 4-H member. She will be entering her junior year at MSU in the fall of 2025, majoring in animal science-livestock management. Following graduation, she intends to use the skills learned at MSU by returning home to assist with the management of her family’s ranching operation.

Charles Graveley

2024

Charles Graveley, is a fifth generation rancher from Avon, Montana.  Currently going into his final year at Montana State University-Northern, where he is studying Agricultural Operations Technology and Welding.  After college, he plans to stay in agriculture and go back to cowboying and ranching.

Mataya Veverka

2025

Mataya Veverka is from Richey, Montana where she grew up on her family’s farm and ranch. She is currently attending Miles Community College in pursuit of an agricultural degree. Upon graduation she hopes to continue to be involved in the agriculture industry.

Andy Moore

2025 Heritage Scholarship & Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship Recipient

Andy Moore is from Miles City, Mont., and is studying animal science at Montana State University (MSU). He will be a senior in the fall of 2025 and is currently serving as MSU’s Collegiate Stockgrowers Vice President. Andy grew up on his family’s cattle feeding operation where he built a drive for the livestock industry. After college, Andy plans to continue in the nutrition field by working on larger feedyards in the South and Midwest. In time, he plans to come back to Miles City to continue to grow his family’s operation.

Nik Pierson

2024 Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship Recipient

2023 Heritage Scholarship Recipient

Nik Pierson was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Nik is from Livingston, Mont. and is a sophomore at the University of Wyoming majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Range Livestock and a minor in Horticulture. He plans to return to Montana upon graduation and raise replacement heifers.

Carissa Workman

Carissa Workman was raised on a cattle ranch in Grass Range, where her parents worked as ranch managers. She earned a degree in Agricultural Communications from Montana State University before deciding to shift her career path toward healthcare. Now a doctorate of physical therapy student at the University of Montana, Carissa is on track to graduate in 2027. After graduation, she plans to return to rural Montana to improve access to healthcare in agricultural communities.
