Tyler Kleinsasser is from Box Elder, South Dakota, and is currently attending South Dakota School of Mines majoring in engineering. Post-graduation, Kleinsasser plans to pursue a challenging and rewarding career that positively affects the livestock industry.

Grace Arthaud

2026

Grace Arthaud, originally from Medora, North Dakota, is currently studying agricultural communications and animal science at MSU while serving as the social media officer for the MSU Collegiate Stockgrowers. After graduation, Arthaud plans to pursue a career as an agricultural reporter, with the long-term goal of starting her own seedstock marketing company.

Mariah Creason

2026 Education Heritage Scholarship & 2025 Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship

Mariah Creason grew up on a diversified livestock operation south of Livingston where she operates a grade A dairy, runs commercial Angus cattle, and a small farm flock of sheep. Creason is a past 4-H member and entering her senior year at MSU studying animal science-livestock management.

Charles Graveley

2024

Charles Graveley, is a fifth generation rancher from Avon, Montana.  Currently going into his final year at Montana State University-Northern, where he is studying Agricultural Operations Technology and Welding.  After college, he plans to stay in agriculture and go back to cowboying and ranching.

Mataya Veverka

2025

Mataya Veverka is from Richey, Montana where she grew up on her family’s farm and ranch. She is currently attending Miles Community College in pursuit of an agricultural degree. Upon graduation she hopes to continue to be involved in the agriculture industry.

Taryn Martinell

2026 Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship & 2025 Education Heritage Scholarship

Taryn Martinell grew up on her family’s commercial cow/calf operation in Dell and will be a senior at MSU in the fall of 2026, pursuing a degree in animal science-livestock management. She plans to continue her passion in the agriculture industry and is committed to applying innovative strategies for sustainable livestock management and production agriculture.

Andy Moore

2025 Heritage Scholarship & Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship Recipient

Andy Moore is from Miles City, Mont., and is studying animal science at Montana State University (MSU). He will be a senior in the fall of 2025 and is currently serving as MSU’s Collegiate Stockgrowers Vice President. Andy grew up on his family’s cattle feeding operation where he built a drive for the livestock industry. After college, Andy plans to continue in the nutrition field by working on larger feedyards in the South and Midwest. In time, he plans to come back to Miles City to continue to grow his family’s operation.

Nik Pierson

2024 Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship Recipient

2023 Heritage Scholarship Recipient

Nik Pierson was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Nik is from Livingston, Mont. and is a sophomore at the University of Wyoming majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Range Livestock and a minor in Horticulture. He plans to return to Montana upon graduation and raise replacement heifers.

Carissa Workman

Carissa Workman was raised on a cattle ranch in Grass Range, where her parents worked as ranch managers. She earned a degree in Agricultural Communications from Montana State University before deciding to shift her career path toward healthcare. Now a doctorate of physical therapy student at the University of Montana, Carissa is on track to graduate in 2027. After graduation, she plans to return to rural Montana to improve access to healthcare in agricultural communities.
