Tyeson Gravenhof

2025

Tyeson Gravenhof hails from Roundup, Mont., and grew up on his family’s purebred Angus seedstock operation. He is a sophomore at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College studying animal science and agribusiness. In the fall of 2025, he plans to transfer to Oklahoma State University to further his education and livestock judging career. Upon graduation, Tyeson hopes to return home to Montana to his family’s operation and pursue a career in animal reproduction.

Taryn Martinell

2025

Taryn Martinell was raised on her family’s commercial cow/calf operation in Dell, Mont. A junior at Montana State University, Taryn is pursuing a degree in animal science-livestock management. Taryn is actively involved in Collegiate Stockgrowers serving as the Media Chair. She plans to continue her passion in the agriculture industry and is committed to applying innovative strategies for sustainable livestock management and production agriculture.

Andy Moore

2025 Heritage Scholarship & Over Educated Cowboy Scholarship Recipient

Andy Moore is from Miles City, Mont., and is studying animal science at Montana State University (MSU). He will be a senior in the fall of 2025 and is currently serving as MSU’s Collegiate Stockgrowers Vice President. Andy grew up on his family’s cattle feeding operation where he built a drive for the livestock industry. After college, Andy plans to continue in the nutrition field by working on larger feedyards in the South and Midwest. In time, he plans to come back to Miles City to continue to grow his family’s operation.

Laynie Sattoriva

2024

Laynie Sattoriva was awarded a $5,000 scholarship. Laynie grew up on her family’s farm and ranch in Hingham, MT. She is a sophomore at the University of Montana Western majoring in Biology with a minor in Pre-Veterinary Science. Once graduated, she’s determined to get a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Ella Waterhouse

2024

Ella Waterhouse was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Ella is originally from Korbel, CA where she grew up raising and showing a wide variety of livestock. She is graduating from Montana State University in December 2024, with a major in Agricultural Communications and minors in Agricultural Business and Economics. Upon graduation, Ella plans to help bridge the gap between consumers and producers through work on public policy and help promote agricultural operations through funding for rural communities.

Colter Petre

2024

Colter Petre was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Colter is from Helena, MT and will be a sophomore at Montana State University in the Fall of 2024, majoring in Animal Science. Colter grew up on his family’s ranch in the Helena Valley, his passion is agriculture and in particular cattle genetics. He is building his own commercial Black Angus cattle herd and is instrumental in the selection and continuation of the AI program for heifer development at the ranch. Colter will pursue a career in cattle genetics or veterinary medicine upon graduation.

Savannah Schneider

2023

Savannah Schneider was awarded a $5,000 scholarship. Savannah graduated from Montana State University in 2022 with a B.S. in Animal Science. She completed her first year of veterinary school through the Washington-Idaho-Montana-Utah (WIMU) Regional Program and will move to Pullman, WA this fall to complete the last three years of her DVM. Once graduated, Savannah plans to return to her hometown of Helena, Mont. as a large animal veterinarian

McLain Payne

2023

McLain Payne was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. McLain grew up on his family’s ranch in Paradise Valley. He is currently attending Montana State University studying Ranching Systems. After graduation in 2025, McLain plans to return home to his family’s operation.

Nik Pierson

Nik Pierson was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. Nik is from Livingston, Mont. and is a sophomore at the University of Wyoming majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Range Livestock and a minor in Horticulture. He plans to return to Montana upon graduation and raise replacement heifers.

Sage Zook

Sage Zook was awarded a $5,000 scholarship and is attending Northwest College in Powell Wyoming, majoring in Animal Science.
